JOIN US FOR SOME GOOD TROUBLE on THURSDAY JULY 17th 5:30-7:00pm at the COURTHOUSE in BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV
July 17 @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Our nation has survived many trials in 250 years. This one is ours, and it’s a doozy. Not every generation goes down in the history books as heroes and reformers. But this is our lot and our calling. We shall do it with determination, ingenuity, and pride. And when this is over, after we have shed the skin of the past, we shall rebuild with compassion and courage.
Good Trouble Lives On National Day of Action has been an annual event for the past five years in memory of the late civil rights activist and U.S. Congressman John Lewis. Coined by him, “Good Trouble” is the act of coming together to take peaceful, non-violent action to challenge injustice and create meaningful change. On July 17th our community is coming together to carry forward his fight for justice, voting rights and dignity for all.
This moment demands action. Our democracy is under siege. The Trump administration has launched one of the most aggressive attacks on our civil and human rights in a generation, from voter suppression laws like the SAVE Act to criminalizing protest and silencing our voices.
This is more than a protest, itโs a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.
We will make it clear: IN AMERICA, THE POWER LIES WITH THE PEOPLE. Letโs get into Good Trouble for democracy, for justice, and each other.

Please note: a core principle behind our John Lewis Good Trouble Day actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
